Anyone can enter the carnival parade, whether you are an individual, a group of friends, a school, a club, community organisation, charity, bar, restaurant or a business/company - the more the merrier!
- the more people taking part, the bigger and better the parade will be.

It is free to enter (however if any businesses taking part wish to make a donation to the Carnival charity in return for the free advertising they receive in the parade, this will be more than welcome!).

The thought provoking theme of the 2010 Carnival “One World” lends itself to wide interpretation from portraying different countries, their cultures, food, dance and music to environmental and global issues.

The theme can be as simple or as complex as you like - the choice is yours - just let your imagination run riot………

Your entry may take the form of a decorated float or decorated small lorry/van/jeep/car or even a tractor and trailer! It could be a decorated bicycle, pram, pushchair or quad bike or even a wheelbarrow.  Or you may choose to enter as a large walking group, a musical band or a dance group or a combination of any of these, or you may simply wish to enter on your own or with a small group of friends.

Parade entries should be colourful, original, visually exciting, thought provoking or entertaining and in keeping with the overall spirit of carnival and the carnival theme “One World”.

Music and dance is an essential part of Carnival and you are encouraged to include these into your entry, whether it is by playing cds through a sound system on your vehicle/float, or by playing instruments or performing dance routines as you walk along.
.

This year the parade will be slowed down or stopped every few minutes to allow the groups to perform to the spectators

When thinking of ideas for your entry THINK COLOURFUL, THINK HEIGHT, THINK NOISYTHINK FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
