Çalış Carnival Eco-bags are proving so popular that a third consignment has been ordered  and they are now on sale at various outlets in the Çalış/Fethiye area.
 

The environmentally friendly cloth shopping/tote bags which advertise the 2010 Çalış Carnival were originally produced for distribution on the Turkey holiday stand at various Tourism Exhibitions across Europe, but they have proved such a success with local residents and tourists alike,  that they are now on general sale in the Çalış/Fethiye area at the cost price of 1TL each.

 “The bags were never meant to raise money for our charity but are an advertising tool to promote Çalış and the 2010 Carnival.  Plastic bags are very dangerous to wildlife as well as causing litter pollution in the countryside and on the beaches, so if  we can help the environment at the same time as advertising our Carnival then we are very happy to do this” said Carnival Chair Peter Clark.   

To encourage environmental awareness, the Carnival Committee are hoping to fund a small children’s environmental project in the near future. 

The carnival Committee would like to thank Finans Emeklilik, Fiba Sigorta, Four seasons Restaurant in Ovacik and Desen graphics and textiles for sponsoring the manufacture and printing of the latest order of bags. The Carnival Eco-bags are on sale at Fetav Office  and Kismet Bar in Fethiye, the Nil Bar in Çalış  and at the monthly Çalış Carnival Car Boot Sales.
