A Winter Pool and Darts League organised by the Çalış Carnival Committee is proving very successful with teams from six Çalış bars and restaurants taking part. Details of the league fixtures are now listed

Sponsored by Çalış Estate Agency, Interturk Estates, who have kindly donated money for the trophies, the league takes place every Monday night between teams from the Shamrock, Tree Tops, Cafe Pazar, Seril 1, Iris Bar and The Nomads. The first fixture took place on 14 December and the league has now recommenced after the Christmas break and will run till 8 March. Later in March there will be a special knock-out competition night where the presentation of the Interturk trophies will take place.

All of the participating teams paid an initial entry fee of 50 TL which will go to the Çalış Carnival charity - helping disadvantaged local children - and they then pay 10 TL a team on the night.

Joint organiser Kevin Dennis said “The league is going very well and we are very pleased with the interest shown. People are enjoying themselves and we are raising money for the Carnival charity at the same time. We might even be able to run two nights next year if more teams want to take part”.
